Over the past 150 years, birth rates have declined to the point that we are decreasing in population. Today’s average is 1.6 children per woman, while they should have 2.1 children in order to produce enough children to replace themselves.
In Quebec specifically, the province is calling for more immigration because their population is aging quickly, decreasing the amount of skilled workers needed.
