Toronto Raptors centre Jonas Valunciunas has been sidelined for the rest of the NBA Eastern Conference Semi-Final due to an ankle sprain.
JV was making his presence felt in the series with consistency on both the defensive and offensive ends of the floor until the third quarter of Toronto’s 95-91 Game 3 win over the Heat on Saturday afternoon.
He scored 16 points with 12 rebounds in just 22 minutes and was averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds through the first two games.
The team says he is now listed as day-to-day on the disabled list.
The Raptors lead the series 2-1 and will now look to Bismack Biyombo to start in the centre position in Game 4, which takes place in Miami on Monday night at 8 p.m. ET.
