A multi-million dollar announcement was made by the Provincial Liberals Thursday, aimed at providing students with better learning opportunities in a safe, updated environment.
Over $137 million will be allocated for new schools, the renovation of some existing schools, as well as the creation of new child care spaces across Ontario.
Work is scheduled to begin shortly on twenty of those projects, however specifics were not released.
Nearly 20 new custom-built child care rooms are being constructed in existing schools in Toronto, Kingsville and Oshawa.
“Improving learning environments for our students is one of the best infrastructure investments we can make. Our government is proud to invest in capital projects that are bringing students and communities together, reducing the cost of under-used space, and reinvesting savings back into the classroom.” – Education Minister Liz Sandals
