Call it when Harry met Justin.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be on hand to welcome Prince Harry and launch the countdown to the Invictus Games in Toronto on Monday.
Trudeau’s itinerary reveals he will hold a morning photo-op with the prince as they start the timer to the 2017 games in Toronto, in what will be the event’s third edition.
Prince Harry will also attend a sledge hockey game, along with Trudeau, at Ryerson University’s Mattamy Athletic Centre. The prince is also scheduled to meet members of Canada’s sledge hockey team and will have a private meeting with Ontario Lt.-Gov. Elizabeth Dowdeswell.
Harry is making the stop in Toronto before heading to this year’s host Orlando, Fla. to kick off the competition for wounded, sick or injured service personnel and veterans. The prince founded the Invictus Games in 2014. The inaugural games were held in London, England.
They are inspired by the Warrior Games, a similar event held in the U.S. Invictus means “Unconquered, Undefeated” in Latin. The Invictus Games are different than the Warrior Games because they are international.
The 2017 Invictus Games will be held in Toronto next September.
