Toronto police are looking for the public’s help in tracking down a man wanted in connection with an assault on a TTC streetcar operator.
According to investigators, a man boarded an eastbound streetcar at the Peter Street stop on Queen Street West on Thursday, December 3rd of last year.
He approached the 55 year old operator, transfer in hand before being told that the transfer was no longer valid and that he should board via the back doors so that he didn’t interfere with people getting off the front of the streetcar.
It’s then said that the suspect reached for a stack of transfers that were in the ”cutter” in front of the operator and started punching the TTC employee multiple times in the face and back of his head.
The suspect is described as white, of a medium build, with a moustache and goatee.
He was wearing a black toque, zip-up black hooded sweater, black backpack and jeans at the time of the assault.
Security camera images of the suspect have been released by police and they are urging anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-5200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
