Despite finding no problems with the way Jacqui Kendrick has been raising her children in Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Child and Family Services will not delete the case file they’ve created for her.
An anonymous neighbour contacted the authorities after they became concerned by the fact that Kendrick’s three children, aged two, five and ten, were allowed to play unsupervised in the family’s fully fenced in backyard.
CFS swooped in, asked Kendrick in-depth questions about her own childhood and how she was raised, and examined the kids’ diets and even their sleeping arrangements.
Is it necessary for CFS in Manitoba and the CAS in Ontario to approach each and every case with extreme scrutiny? Better to be safe than sorry?
