Honest Ed’s is offering a $1000 reward in hopes of getting back one of their iconic signs.
A hand painted sign reading “Honest Ed’s Pharmacy Professional Services since 1960” was stolen on Friday from outside the Bloor Street store.
The seven-foot high wooden sign with royal blue letters was in a case and the thief or thieves had to cut a lock to access it.
“Toronto police have been notified,” said Honest Ed’s general manager, Russell Lazar. “We at Honest Ed’s are very disappointed that this theft took place.”
Honest Ed’s was founded by Ed Mirvish in 1948 and will be closing its doors at the end of 2016.
