The decision on whether or not to install bike lanes along a portion of Bloor Street now rests in the hands of city council.
The recommendations for the pilot project between Shaw Street and Avenue Road were debated by the public works and infrastructure committee on Monday, however a vote on the plan was split 2- 2.
Due to that split vote, the proposal must now be debated by city council before a vote takes place during their next meeting on May 3rd.
If the plan get the go ahead, motorists would be limited to one lane of traffic each way and on-street parking would be reduced.
The bike lanes could be painted in by this summer.
