A Toronto man’s backyard pirate ship treehouse earned him a letter from the city demanding its removal. The structure took $30,000 and six years to build, and even though the city initially said he didn’t need a permit to build it, is tall enough to require zoning changes. The city is reviewing the application, many people are saying that it’s his yard, so it’s his business—especially when it’s something that gets kids playing. The ship’s builder, John Alpeza, joins the program live.
