A couple of charity events are underway in the city and as a result there are some road closures in effect.
Cadillac Fairview is lacing up for its 12th annual Charity CF Run/Walk, which is an effort that goes towards raising funds for The Hospital for Sick Children and the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario.
All proceeds are to support the advanced cancer care and research for affected children.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. and there are two separate races:
- The CF 1 K Kids Run/Walk for youth aged 12 and under takes place entirely on the CF Shops at Don Mills’ grounds. *
- The CF Adult 5 K Run/Walk is open to ages 13 and up.
- Both races start and finish at Town Square.

Also taking place today is the 5th annual Bum Run, which raises awareness for colorectal cancer. The event has Queens Park Crescent closed between College Street and Bloor Street West. The TTC is also affected with the 5 Avenue bus turning back at Bloor Street West.
All proceed goes towards cancer research charities.
