The greatest gaming convention on the Eastern Seaboard – PAX (Penny Arcade Expo East) will be held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 22nd – 24th. Doubling in size each year, PAX has become a celebration of gamer culture.
Created by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik in 2004, the first PAX Expo was held in Bellevue, Washington at the Meydenbauer Center. The event was held annually in August at the same location for three years after the initial festival and attendance continues to grow rapidly every year since then, starting with 3,000 people in 2004, growing to 9,000 in 2005 and over 19,000 in 2006. By 2007, PAX had become so popular; the event needed a much bigger venue and moved to the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. PAX became a series of festivals due to extensive popularity over the years and the festivals are now held in Seattle, Boston, Melbourne and San Antonio.
