A 20 year old Brampton man has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a puppy at gunpoint.
Toronto Police say they received a call for a robbery in the Meadowvale Road and Lawson Road area at around 9.p.m. on Sunday, April 3rd.
It’s alleged that a man had posted a puppy for sale on Kijiji and had received a response from another man who indicated that he was interested in buying it.
When the puppy owner arrived at the pre-arranged location to meet the “prospective buyer,” he was confronted by four men, one of whom was armed with a shotgun.
The men then stole the puppy and fled the area.
Christopher Rampersaud was arrested in connection with the incident on Saturday, April 16th and has now been charged with armed robbery, the use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, weapons dangerous and possession of property obtained by crime.
The stolen puppy has not been located, however, another puppy (pictured), believed to have been stolen in a similar manner in Pickering, was allegedly found in the residence of the accused.
Police say it does not appear that this crime has been reported and they would like to return the puppy to its rightful owner.
