A man who was found dead in a North York fire pit earlier this month has now been identified.
The grisly discovery was made after police received a call for a fire in Northwood Park near Sheppard Avenue East and Sentinel Road on Saturday April 9th.
The body had been badly burnt, with police saying at the time that no one who matched the victim’s description had been reported missing.
However the deceased has now been identified as 29 year old Toronto man, Julio Cesar Soto.
Soto had last been seen in the Assiniboine Road and Sentinel Road area on Friday, April 8th, not far from the park, however he had not been reported missing until April 16th.
No suspects have yet been identified and there is no word on a motive for the murder.
