As part of the TTC’s plans to upgrade the system and make paying for fares more convenient for passengers, PRESTO fare gates are being installed at the St. Clair station.
Work will be completed in stages at the station’s four entrances.
On April 15, work will begin at the St. Clair Centre entrance at 6:00 p.m. This will result in a closure which will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. April 18.
Work will begin on the Scotiabank entrance at 7:00 p.m. on April 29. This closure will extend into the middle of May.
When this entrance re-opens, customers wishing to use cash, tokens or tickets will not be able to pass through. Only PRESTO will be accepted here.
On May 9, work will get underway on the St. Clair main entrance. From that date until the end of the month, customers will not be permitted to buy a fare at the collector booth. They will only be allowed access with a token, ticket or pass.
Finally, work is scheduled to start on the Pleasant Blvd. entrance on May 12. This entrance will be closed from 7:00 p.m. until the end of June.
TTC is advising customers there will be posted signs and staff on hand to assist with any questions.
