Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke at an event in Thunder Bay on Friday and unveiled the Liberal government’s plans to invest heavily in the countries public transit.
The proposed plan of $3.4 Billion will support municipalities and cities to further develop and sustain their transit infrastructure.
Although there were no exact figures announced for the rest of the nation, Ontario is expected to get half of the budget’s funds – $1.5 Billion.
The allocated funds were part of the government’s federal budget last month and is expected to commence later this year.
Along with the announcement, the PM was also scheduled meet with various First Nations leaders and discuss plans to provide financial aid to poverty stricken communities who are living in Third World conditions.
