You can now use your PRESTO card to ride the TTC at Main Street station.
A number of politicians including TTC chair Josh Colle, MP Adam Vaughan and councillor Janet Davis were on hand to officially unveil the first PRESTO accessible fare gates on the TTC.
That means 27 TTC stations are now PRESTO-enabled and fare gates will be installed at the primary entrances of the 42 remaining subway stations that are not yet PRESTO-enabled by the end of 2016.
The gates will be configured for PRESTO card and Metropass users.
When PRESTO is fully-deployed, there will be more than 10,000 electronic fare payment devices on buses, streetcars and in subway stations.
Adam Vaughan says the new fare gates will “increase efficiency.”
The MPP for Beaches-East York, Arthur Potts says “We now have a seamless way from getting from Main Station to the GOtransit Danforth station.”
