A 23 year old Ajax man is facing charges in relation to juvenile prostitution offences.
According to York Regional Police, officers were conducting a general patrol around a hotel on Cochrane Drive in Markham, shortly before 5.p.m. on Thursday, April 7th when they noticed a young girl standing outside of the hotel and began to talk to her.
The 16 year old girl then indicated to officers that she was afraid of a male suspect.
An investigation was launched and found that the suspect had been controlling the victim and exploiting her as a juvenile prostitute and that she needed help to get out of the sex trade.
Rachan McLean (pictured) has now been charged with trafficking a person under 18, 2 counts of material benefit, exercising control over a person under 18 and advertising sexual services.
