A 20 year old man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash north of Orangeville between a minivan and horse-drawn carriage.
The collision happened on Sunday morning when both vehicles were travelling southbound on Highway 10.
Police say there were nine people in the buggy when it was rear-ended by the minivan around 9:30.
A five year old girl identified as Melinda Bowman was killed in the crash and a 26 year old woman was airlifted to hospital where she remains in critical condition.
The man charged has been identified as Alex Silk of Belleville, Ontario. Police say he was a passenger in the minivan.
Silk has been charged with criminal negligence causing death and three counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
