In recent affairs, Muslims have been making headlines all over the world. Donald Trump would ban Muslims from the U.S. until he figures out “what the hell is going on.” Radicalized young men and women have, in increasing numbers, turned to extremist Islam and joined ISIS and other terror groups in the Middle East, and possibly elsewhere. Some of these extremist militants are returning to their home countries, including Canada. There is a raising concern that they may perform acts of terror in these countries, and with the recent attacks, these concerns do not go unwarranted. There’s Paris (twice in 2015), London, Madrid, Brussels. This has lead some to ask, “Where are the moderate Muslims?”
Today, a leader of the Muslim Reform Movement, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser talks about what the American Islamic Forum for Democracy is. They have connection with similar-minded Canadian Muslims, and Dr. Jasser will share his experiences about being a Muslin in North America.
Does North American society have to open up to Muslims more, or do Muslims need to adapt to the ways of North American society? Does Dr. Jasser speak speak for you, if you are a Muslim in Canada, or the U.S.?
