Hundreds of market goers and Liberal supporters crowded the Halifax Seaport Market today to welcome Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to the province for the first time since his election.
Before speaking to the crowd, he spent time taking pictures, shaking hands and meeting vendors.
The purpose behind Trudeau’s visit to the maritime province is to meet privately with Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil to discuss ways the government can help and support the province.
Trudeau would go on to show his support to the province saying “Right now across Atlantic Canada, we have Liberal government at both the provincial and federal levels. It’s an unprecedented opportunity to advance our shared values and bring real positive change to the lives of all Atlantic Canadians”.
Premier McNeil says he is very optimistic about the talks and says he will push for aid in multiple areas including health care and infrastructure.
