Quantum Break – April 5th
Quantum Break is an upcoming third-person shooter action-adventure video game developed by Remedy Entertainment. The game is set in the US around a fictional university called Riverport, where a time travelling experiment has went horribly wrong – resulting in time breaking down and the two main characters having advanced abilities.
The character of Paul Serene can see into the future and decide what decisions to make in the present, where Jack Joyce can actually stop time temporarily and reverse the directions of bullets. Players will play as Jack Joyce, who is the protagonist of the game.
Along with time manipulation powers, the player will also have access to a variety of fire arms to use against enemies.
Joyce can defend and protect himself from attacks by deploying a time shield. The game play will be split into segments, so players will have to solve environmental puzzles along with defending themselves against enemies.
Dark Souls III – April 12th
Dark Souls III is an upcoming dark and broody role-playing game developed by From Software. The game will be set in third person and players are equipped with a variety of weapons, magic and armour. Dark Souls III is focused on the initial role-playing aspect. Character Customization will be upgraded for an easier and extended designing process.
Design your character and battle against colossal enemies and bosses, while exploring the mysterious land of secrets.
In this fearsome story, players will journey through ruins with amplified combat intensity. Surrounded by beasts, traps and secrets – players will have to try and survive this dark apocalypse. Embrace the darkness.
Star Fox Zero – April 21st
Star Fox Zero is a 3D scrolling shooter game being released for Wii U. Star Fox Zero is being co-developed by Nintendo and Platinum Games and is the 6th main installment in the series.
The Lylat system is in danger, Fox McCloud must defeat the evil empire in order to bring peace to the galaxy. The game is neither a prequel nor sequel to the previous games in the series, but will follow the classic gameplay of its predecessors.
Players will play as Fox McCloud and pilot the Arwing through various levels using advanced flying techniques. The game is controlled using the Wii U gamepad, with a cockpit view to assist with aiming.
Classic characters have also returned for Fox’s protection. Falco, Peppy and Slippy will help aid your character from attacks. Previous rivals have also returned to Star Fox Zero.
The Gyrowing will be introduced and is the newest vehicle to the series. The drone-style helicopter can deploy robots and hack into computers.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – May 10th
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is a third-person shooter action-adventure game. Naughty Dog (developer of the Uncharted series) has assured that Nathan Drake’s next generation debut will be unforgettable. Naughty Dog’s Bruce Straley has stated “Gameplay-wise, we’re just going deeper and richer with all the mechanics. It’s still going to be a roller-coaster ride.”
Being exclusive to the PS4, Uncharted 4 is set several years after Uncharted 3. Nathan Drake is now a retired fortune hunter who had settled down with his wife, until everything got turned upside down when his supposedly dead brother reappears into his life. Together again and deep in the forests of Madagascar, the two investigate the conspiracy behind the pirate colony, Libertalia.
The game will feature a breathtaking journey across several countries, from urban cities to mountain peaks. Melee combat will be more dynamic and stealth capabilities have been revamped. The player can now hide from enemies and there will be an alert system when an enemy can see Drake.
Vehicles are also making a return and will finally be fully drivable for the first time.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes the player across the globe, in pursuit of answers behind the historical conspiracy of pirate treasure. Welcome back to the world of thievery.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst – May 24th
Mirrors Edge Catalyst is a first person action-adventure game, based around the main characters origin and her attempt to overthrow the corporations that rule the futuristic city of Glass. The Conglomerate rule the city of Glass. Mirrors Edge: Catalyst is a reboot of 2008’s release.
Developed by EA DICE, players will have to master the environment using their momentum and balance, while travelling across buildings, zip lines, skyscrapers and various environmental objects. Playing as Faith Connors, the player will use parkour movements and quick melee-style attacks to defeat enemies and complete missions. Mirrors Edge: Catalyst offers freedom to player, so you can discover new activities, environmental puzzles and complete story missions at your own pace.
