Petitions have sprung up following Rob Ford’s death, seeking to immortalize the former Toronto mayor in one way or another.
One seeks to rename Centennial Park in Etobicoke the “Rob Ford Memorial Park”. Another would like the Etobicoke Civic Centre to bear his name.
A third is calling on current mayor John Tory to “give back to the man who has given so much to them” by putting up a statue in the “Great City of Toronto”.
The petition argues that “Rob Ford deserves a statue in the city of Toronto where people can pay their respects and never forget the man who was Rob Ford.”
