The mayor of Montreal, Denis Coderre, has said that “we need to have that debate on plastic,” possibly embracing a ban on bottled water, following up on the city’s impending plastic bag ban. A number of cities ban bottled water sales from municipal buildings, because of environmental concerns, and Toronto doesn’t allow distribution of bottled water at city parks and pools.
