A 23 year old Toronto man is facing charges after allegations that he sexually assaulted a six year old boy he had been hired to babysit.
According to police, Daniel Harker advertised his babysitting services online through the website care.com and was contacted by the parents of the victim after they had viewed his profile and resume online.
It’s alleged that the accused attended the victim’s home in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Danforth Avenue on Saturday, March 5th to look after the child.
The child then told his parents that he had been sexually assaulted by Harker.
He was placed under arrest on Wednesday March 16th and has now been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.
Police fear that there may be other victims as the accused had access to other children in the community.
The following is a list of some of the locations he worked:
– Toronto District School Board as a lunchroom monitor at Pape Avenue Junior Public School, 220 Langley Avenue
– City of Toronto as a part-time Recreation Worke,r allowing him access to children at various locations including wading pools and gym classes
– SH Armstrong Community Centre, 56 Woodfield Road, for pre-school-aged children and drop-in program for older children
– Gledhill Child Care Centre, 2 Gledhill Avenue, as a pre-school daycare worker
