One of the most influential and significant games in video game history is about to make a comeback. Developer and monarch of the first-person shooter genre, Id Software presents DOOM (previously known as DOOM 4). This will be the first major installment of the series since the previous release of DOOM 3 in 2004, and will be very similar to the 1993 classic, DOOM. The game hits the shelves on May 13th, 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PS4
DOOM Multiplayer Modes
Players can expect the gameplay to be very similar to the original DOOM and still features the gruesome demons, classic destructive guns and of course, the same fast-moving capability. The game features a deep combat melee system in a fast-paced arena environment. Classic and new game modes will be available.
The famous BFG 9000, Super Shotgun and the chainsaw that can cut enemies in half with one strike, will make a triumphant return. There will be a large selection of weaponry; players can freely pick up weapons from fallen enemies around the map. Power-ups will be available as well that allow you to play as a demon. There will be no health-generation system, so players will be forced to pick up health as they go while defeating enemies. Relentless demons, top-notch agility and obstructive weapon combat. What more can we ask for?
The co-founder of Id Software, John Carmack announced at a press conference that DOOM will have “three times as much horsepower as RAGE” and promises the graphics will be on an entirely different level, but still have that original DOOM feel.
DOOM will also be released with SnapMap, where players can design and customize their own maps to their heart’s desire, giving limitless gameplay advantages. Play your creation individually or share it with the world for others to experience.
