Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says next week’s budget will change Canada’s pension eligibility to age 65.
He made the announcement in New York on Thursday during an interview with Bloomberg.
It’s something Trudeau promised during the election campaign.
Trudeau says the decision by the Conservative government to raise the age for Old Age Security to 67 was not the right approach.
The plan was set to come into effect in 2023.
The budget is set to be tabled on March 22.
