The City of Brampton has decided to help save their struggling ECHL hockey team Brampton Beasts by sponsoring them with $1.5 million, given over 3 years. It’s coming from the taxpayers but technically comes out to about $1 a year. They want to help the team as they say the team and hockey is a part of Brampton culture. Do they mean 30, 40 years ago? As you can tell, the diversity landscape of Brampton has changed significantly over the years and other sports have become much more popular.
