It appears the majority of Canadians support the idea of making flu shots mandatory for some professions.
According to the latest polling data from the Angus Reid Institute, over 70% say those who work with people who are more susceptible to influenza should have to get an annual flu shot.
That list includes doctors, nurses and teachers.
About 63% feel the flu shot is mostly effective at reducing the occurrence and severity of flu.
Support for the mandatory vaccine comes despite the fact that 63% didn’t bother getting a flu shot this winter season, and about 45% have not had one over the last five years.
