A fourth person is dead following a fire at a TCH building in Scarborough last month.
That according to the Ontario Coroner’s Office, who confirmed the news on Wednesday evening.
The fire broke out at the building on Nielson road in Malvern on February 5th, with three people pronounced dead shortly after being rescued from the five story building.
The victims were named 90 year old Charles Roberts, his 72 year old wife Hyacinth, and 86-year-old Azeema Safraj, all three died as a result of smoke inhalation.
A further 15 people were injured following the blaze at the complex which housed people over the age of 59.
In late February, charges were laid against Toronto Community Housing for having furniture in the hallway where the blaze broke out.
TCH was fined $100,000, which it is now contesting.
