It was perhaps one of the biggest games for the Raptors this season and Kyle Lowry stepped up to the occasion scoring a career-high 43 points to go along with 9 assists and 3 rebounds in a 99-97 victory for Toronto against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The reigning Eastern Conference champions were leading by 14 points at one point, but the Raptors continued to consistently chip away at the Cavaliers and managed to slide past them in the dying seconds of the game. LeBron James had 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in a losing effort for his team.
It was a huge win for the Raptors, who have now won the season series (2-1) against the Cavaliers, as they beat them at the Air Canada Centre back on Wednesday, November 25th and lost to them in Cleveland on Monday, January 4th.
Toronto is currently in first place in the Atlantic Division and now two games behind Cleveland for top spot in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.
The Raptors now get ready to face the Pistons in Detroit on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
