MP Bill Blair spoke to the Senate Liberal caucus yesterday, announcing that nearly 1.1 million Canadians have marijuana-related criminal records dating back to 1965. He explained that “the current approach is simply failing in our public safety and our public health goals” and that it is “one of the great injustices in this country”. The Liberals are therefore considering amnesty for all past marijuana offences in Canada, but there will be no halt to prosecutions for small marijuana crimes.
Would you be in favor of everyone getting their record cleared?
