A group of equity officials for Ontario school boards are lobbying the government to ban students from wearing clothing with “pejorative indigenous names, logos and mascots,” which would preclude kids from wearing Chicago Blackhawks or Cleveland Indians jerseys. The open letter says that allowing these articles is to “tolerate racism and it must stop immediately.”
Do they have a point, or are they being overly sensitive about something most people accept?
