Three of the four officers with the Toronto Police force, who were charged with obstruction of justice and perjury back on Thursday, January 28th, have now been charged with a total of five new additional charges.
Investigators have now charged Constable Jeffery Tout with an additional count of perjury and two counts of obstruction of justice.
Constable Benjamin Elliot has received another charge of obstruction of justice.
Detective Constable Fraser Douglas is also facing an additional count of obstruction of justice.
All of the new charges are connected to the initial matter where a Superior Court judge ruled last September that the officers planted heroin inside the vehicle of 56-year-old, Ngyuen Tran near Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street back on January 15th, 2014, in an effort to justify a search for their testimony in court.
The four officers are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, March 11th, 2016.
