A byelection is being held in Whitby-Oshawa Thursday, to select an M-P-P to replace Christine Elliot.
She resigned her post last summer, after losing the Progressive Conservative party leadership to Patrick Brown.
Elliot has thrown her support behind Conservative candidate Lorne Coe, who, according to a recent Mainstreet Poll, leads the way with 40% of voter support.
Also in the race is Liberal candidate Elizabeth Roy and the NDP’s Niki Lundquist.
There are also a couple of candidates looking to take the “none of the above” vote, with one candidate going as fas as legally changing his name to Above Znoneofthe, in order to appear last on the ballot.
Polls close at 9:00 p.m.
