The iconic Sam the Record Man sign will spin once again.
Ryerson University began asking qualified companies this week to bid on restoring and reinstalling the sign. The plan is to put the sign on top of the Toronto Public Health building at Victoria and Dundas, and would face Yonge-Dundas Square. The building is just around the corner from where from the old flagship store sold records from 1961 to 2007. Since 2008, the sign has been in storage and Ryerson has been responsible for maintaining it. The school is flipping the bill for the installation, but no date has been set for when this will happen.
