There is one last witness to hear from in the Jian Ghomeshi trial.
On Tuesday, the judge agreed to hear from a woman whom the Crown argued would be able to back up testimony given by Lucy DeCoutere, and dispel the claim from the Defense that DeCoutere had made up allegations of Ghomeshi slapping and choking her.
However, because the witness is unable to travel, her police statement and her messages to DeCoutere will be filed with the court instead.
It’s not likely Ghomeshi will take the stand.
Closing submissions could come as early as tomorrow.
The trial resumes Wednesday morning.
