Parents are becoming more and more open with their children when it comes to sex, drugs, and alcohol.
What once would have been considered “oversharing” now is being considered normal. MacLean’s recently detailed a few examples of parents being lenient with underage drinking, giving advice to their 15-year-old child regarding a sexual experience, and a mother buying pot candies for her 14-year-old. There is now a generation of kids who have grown up being more open to their parents than in previous generations.
Is transparency between parents and their children a good thing? Do you encourage a more communicative style of parenting?
