Premier Kathleen Wynne spent $592,834 of taxpayer money on retirement pension plan ads, which coincided with the federal election. The money was spent August 2nd-October 14th, five days before the federal election.
Wynne says these ads were planned well in advance and it was a coincidence as she has no idea that the election would be announced so early. She explains it was important to let people know the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan was coming.
