York Regional Police are appealing for witnesses in connection to a fatal collision with a cyclist in Richmond Hill back on Wednesday, January 30th.
According to investigators, a 76-year-old man had been riding his bicycle on Waterhouse Way near Bathurst Street and Elgin Mills during the evening hours when he was struck by the car.
The driver of the vehicle did make the effort to check on the cyclist. However, the cyclist said he was fine and he asked for police not to be contacted or the incident to be reported.
The next day, a family member of the victim contacted police to report the accident and officers also convinced the man to go to hospital.
The man checked-in to a local hospital with life threatening injuries on February 1st and he succumbed to them on Saturday, February 6th.
