A fire Saturday afternoon in Toronto’s west end has claimed a life
A woman pulled from a burning apartment on Jameson Avenue near King street was pronounced dead on scene according to paramedics.
Toronto Fire services rushed out to the blaze just before 2:00pm at 149 Jameson Avenue.
It was deemed a one alarm fire while crews tackled the flames, putting them out on the fifth floor of the building in about 10 minutes.
A victim was retrieved with life-threatening injuries, but pronounced dead not long after.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office will be investigating.
Early indications from crews on scene is, no working smoke alarms near the area of combustion.
