Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla was so upset by a customer’s online rant about a Tesla launch event that Musk cancelled the customer’s order for a new Model X electric car. Stewart Alsop blogged about Elon Musk saying he should be ashamed of himself because of Alsop’s experience at a jam-packed launch that started an hour and 22 minutes late and featured “an amateur slide show” about safety. Alsop had put a $5,000 deposit down on a car had left before test driving the car. Alsop said that Tesla should show some class and apologize, acknowledging that Musk had wasted his customer’s time. Musk did not apologize, instead he personally cancelled Alsop’s order. Do you agree with Musk’s decision to cancel Alsop’s order? Or do you think the customer is always right?
