Would you be brave enough not only honk at a police officer, but PULL THEM OVER to confront them on their conduct?
Claudia Castillo was!
The Miami motorist honked at a Miami-Dade police officer who she alleges was speeding, and actually made many attempts to pull him over to give him a talking to.
Castillo accused the officer of “endangering the public” with his high-speed maneuvers on the highway.
“I actually know he was going about 100 miles per hour, because I was hitting 80 (mph) and I could not catch up to him, and he was still leaving me behind. I was able to get up to him and honked and flash my lights to ask him to pull over, but I don’t know if he ignored me.”
Eventually, the cop put on his sirens, pulled over, and approached Castillo’s vehicle. He asked her “I just want to know what’s the emergency?”
“I don’t know how fast I was going, but I can tell you this – I’m on the way to work right now. I don’t believe I was speeding.”
“I apologize and I’ll be sure to slow down then.”
The officer provided Castillo with his name and badge number, and promised he would “be sure to slow down then.”
But Castillo gave him one last parting shot, saying “Leaders of the community set by example, lead by example. It’s just I think that we all should set an example.”
