The CBC aired a special last night featuring Prime Minister Justin Trudeau fielding comments and questions from 10 Canadians with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
The CBC claims that each Canadian was given a 10 minute, 1-on-1 experience with Trudeau in his office. No staffers, advisers or reporters were permitted to be in the room when the interviews took place. They also claim that the encounters we not scripted in any way.
The questions ranged from queries about the future for students graduating with massive debt but few job opportunities, to Canada’s role in the fight against ISIS.
58-year-old Neil Piercey told Trudeau that he lost his manufacturing job in London, but now delivers fruit to try to make ends meet. He revealed that he cashed in his RRSP in order to pay his mortgage and support his family, and now has no pension to fall back on.
Was this television event a bad PR move by the Prime Minister? Do you think it will help or harm his image?
