In the wake of several recent shootings in the Lawrence Heights area, Toronto police canvassed the residents in that neighborhood Saturday.
Officers went door-to-door near the intersection of Bagot Court and Varna Drive advising residents on what to do in light of witnessing a crime and how to touch base with authorties through 32 Division and Crime Stoppers.
Several shootings have been reported within that area in the last month including a man shot in the leg after a scuffle at the front door of a home in December.
Meanwhile in January, a man was struck in the foot after shots were fired at a bus shelter.
The number of shootings in Toronto has increased since 2015 and are prompting the cities police to tighten up patrols.
Today at 2:30pm at Varna Dr and Bagot Crt, D/Sgt Brosnan & Det Zajac will be speaking about recent shootings. ^cb
