Toronto Police have made an arrest after an attempted robbery on a Go Train Tuesday evening.
Officials were called to a stalled GO train near Birchmount Road and Raleigh Avenue in Toronto’s east end around 11pm after a 28 year old man tried to rob a woman before prying open the train doors and fleeing the scene.
Investigators say the male suspect grabbed the woman and held a sharp object to her neck. She survived the incident with only minor injuries.
The 28 year old, who’s name has not been released, was arrested Wednesday evening near Scarborough Town Centre after a patrolling police officer recognized the man. Police also reported the man fought back against the officer and resisted arrest. He now faces multiple charges including armed robbery, assault with a weapon and assaulting an officer.
