It would seem that less Canadians are planning on contributing to their RRSP before the February 29th deadline, when compared with last year.
A poll conducted for the Bank of Montreal found that 61% of respondents not yet retired said they would be making a contribution.
That figure stood at 64% a year ago.
However, it also found that those who have already contributed are putting aside more than last year, with their average contribution at $3,984, up from $3,738 last year.
Among those who said they are planning to contribute, the average amount was $3,327, up from $2,892 a year ago.
The deadline to contribute to an RRSP for the 2015 tax year is Feb. 29.
