In a Killeen, Texas classroom, a girl was having an asthma attack. As the girl wheezed and fell to the ground, the teacher told the class to stay seated and emailed the nurse. Fifteen-year-old Anthony Ruelas responded that there wasn’t time to wait for an email and carried the girl to the nurse for treatment. The boy was then suspended for disobeying the teacher’s orders for two days. He had been suspended in the past for different reasons, and was known for being a troublemaker. Anthony’s mother has said he won’t be returning to the school after the suspension and is shocked he isn’t being rewarded for his efforts.
Should the kid have been given a break because of what he did, or should he have followed the teacher’s orders?
