The acting mayor and MP in La Loche, Saskatchewan is requesting that the La Loche Community School be torn down following a fatal shooting Friday.
A 17-year-old suspect faces four charges of first-degree murder and seven charges of attempted murder after he assaulted the school at 1 p.m. CST. Nine people were shot, two of them fatally. Two additional fatalities were discovered in a home.
After meeting with Sask. Premier Brad Wall Sunday, Kevin Janvier said, “I want that school to be rebuilt. Torn down, rebuilt … because of the trauma.”
Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River MP Georgina Jolibois believes that “there’s so much pain, so much trauma. The school needs to be rebuilt.”
