Millions are just starting to dig themselves out after the record-setting blizzard which brought much of the U.S. East Coast to a standstill and killed 18.
Travel bans in New York City and Baltimore have lifted with some restrictions, and limited flight service to airports might begin later in Sunday afternoon, but it’s likely they will realistically remain closed according to U.S. airport authorities.
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority says flights to and from Pearson are still effected and recommends anyone planning to fly south east to check with your airline.
The U-S National Weather Service says New York received 68.1 centimetres of snow, just millimetres short of a record snowfall in 2006.
Other airlines have started cutting Monday service in addition to the 7,000 already-cancelled weekend flights.
If you’re travelling out of Pearson International Airport you can check your flight status here.
Winter storm has caused some cancellations & delays to cities along the US Eastern Seaboard. Please check flight info with your airline.
