Toronto Police are beefing up security at the downtown courthouse hosting Constable James Forcillo’s murder trial.
Toronto Sun columnist Michele Mandel noticed that a Toronto Police video truck is now parked on University Avenue, and more officers have appeared at the courthouse.
The jury is continuing their deliberations today, working to come to a decision on what the officer’s fate will be.
Forcillo has pleaded not guilty to charges of second degree murder and attempted murder in the death of Sammy Yatim. The knife-wielding 18-year-old was shot multiple times and killed by Forcillo on a Toronto streetcar in July of 2013.
